Homestead View

Communicating the vision for affordable living and community growth.

Led by Homes England with a consortium of landowners and developers – L&Q Estates, Richborough Estates and Taylor Wimpey – we supported the development of their marketing strategy, content and design, with the objective to communicate how the development fills a significant gap in affordable housing in the area, while also providing new green spaces and infrastructure improvements.

This project began with the need for a name for this new development. Pillory Barn created a shortlist of ideas with supporting rationale for debate and critique amongst key stakeholders. The name, Homestead View, was selected from this list and represents the historic meaning for an area of land granted to a settler as a home. This was combined with the natural views and topography on offer in this area.

Our design team created three brand concept ideas that covered logo design, typography and colour, and complemented the consortium of housebuilders’ own brands. The chosen identity was developed into high fidelity brand assets which were used to create a range of collateral including adverts, social branding and post graphics as well as consultation materials.

The relatable brand creation and activity, in collaboration with Homes England, ensured local residents were kept up to date on the development plans and progress, and were given the opportunity to feedback and shape the project and promote the new developments as major projects to meet housing and infrastructure needs in the local area.
